Hesketh Ecology

Habitat Surveys

Hesketh Ecology is able to complete habitat surveys ranging from Phase 1 Habitat Mapping and Hedgerow Surveys to River Corridor Surveys. We are also able to complete habitat monitoring and assessment to a level appropriate to a client.s needs. Our services can include initial desk or field based scoping surveys to full Phase 1 Habitat Surveys. We provide a full service from initial investigation to complete survey reports which can be tailored to meet the needs of the client. We regularly produce habitat survey reports which are used to accompany outline and full planning applications. Previous projects have ranged from small scale residential developments to landscape scale mineral extraction schemes.

From surveying a habitat, we can then identify all potential ecological impacts and develop a strategy to move a project forwards. This may involve further species specific survey effort or may require avoidance, mitigation and/or compensation measures to be put in place. Hesketh Ecology have provided information to inform Assessments of Likely Significant Effect for projects adjacent to Special Areas of Conservation (SAC’s) and method statements for works affecting (or likely to affect) Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI’s).
